Respawn Entertainment has provided fans with a sneak preview of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, featuring several planets with open-world designs. The sequel to the successful Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order follows on, and anticipation is high for this sequel. Despite an extended delay of around six weeks, fans continue to receive updates about what can be expected from the game.
According to IGN’s video release, the sequel will include planets with more open designs that give players more freedom to explore. Koboh is described as starting off with a linear design but eventually opening up into an expansive world full of secrets and enemies they might otherwise miss if they stick only to their main path.
The video also revealed players have the freedom to decide which direction they take during gameplay, with several options available. During a five-hour gameplay preview, the main objective was to reach a cantina in order to repair Cal’s crashed Mantis, but players could opt to explore other directions instead and be rewarded with additional discoveries.
Examples included a cave featuring a boss, Bedlam Raider camp and puzzle room inside Jedi Chamber. However, there are reportedly even more areas to discover but require further upgrades in order to access them.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has given players a better idea of what to expect, but Respawn still has more information to reveal. With less than two months until release on April 28th, fans are hoping for something new while maintaining the authentic Star Wars experience that made the first game so beloved.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, released in 2019, earned critical acclaim for its gameplay, story and visuals. The adventure followed Cal Kestis as she survived Order 66’s purge and embarked on a mission to restore the Jedi Order.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to build upon the success of its predecessor with enhanced lightsaber combat and unique planets. Set after Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, players will once again control Cal Kestis as he navigates a distant galaxy.
The game is expected to feature an open-world design, with players exploring various planets and facing off against new enemies and secrets. With just a few weeks until launch, Star Wars fans are eagerly awaiting what new adventures lie in store for them in this universe.
